Coffee Hot Spots in Grant County

Coffee is a hot topic in Grant County. With three local colleges generating caffeine seeking students, coffee shops and coffee houses are plentiful. Each has its own specialty and cool vibe. Along with a flavor-packed place to grab-and-go, these brew-tiful hang outs are ideal places to meet friends and study.

Here’s a list of Coffee Hot Spots, each offering their own unique perks.

The Abbey

Striving for excellence and sacredness, the on-site roastmaster roasts coffee in small batches to ensure consistent and robust flavor. Their coffee is shipped all over the country, but you get to experience each cup as it is freshly roasted, brewed and served just the way you like it! Here, the vibe is industrial chic with comfy seating and easy outdoor access through a glassed garage door.  Check out their event schedule which includes live music, trivia and other caffeine enhanced happenings.

The Bridge Cafe

Featuring locally roasted coffee from The Abbey Coffee Co., you can pair your favorite cup of joe with delicious homemade baked goods including gluten-free and vegan yummies.

Cool Beans Coffee Shop & Ice Cream

Satisfy whatever you are craving at Cool Beans. From a regular ole cup of coffee to something decadent and delicious, you’ll get the caffeine fix that suits you best. Cap it off with something cool and creamy at the ice cream counter. Wow, it’s the best of both worlds all under one roof!

The Jumping Bean, Taylor University, Upland

McConn Coffee Co., Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion

In 1995, IWU’s School of Business introduced the idea of creating a student-run coffee shop. The vision was to establish “First a place of love, second a place of coffee.” The shop is named after the longest-serving IWU president, William McConn, and is located in the Noggle Christian Ministries building It remains student operated, serving all types of caffeinated hot and cold beverages.

Midwest Coffee Roasting Co.

This roasterie serves steaming coffee on the spot, or you can take a bag of freshly roasted beans with you. Earth-friendly, they specialize in 100% chemical free coffees. Come hungry. We recommend pairing your aromatic brew with the locally famous hashbrown casserole.

Milk and Honey Coffee Co.

Come for a freshly brewed cup of coffee, and you’ll want to stay for the bright, charming and friendly ambience. Freshly made treats will pair perfectly with your lovingly prepared cup of coffee. Bring a book or a friend.
