Salamonie Reservoir

11,594 acres and a 2,855 acre lake. This property boasts sixty ponds, marshes and wetlands. The name Salamonie was derived from the Native American word “O-sah-mo-nee,” which means “yellowpaint.” Native Americans made yellow paint from the bloodroot plant which grew in great abundance along the winding banks of the riverBe sure to visit the nearby Salamonie River State Forest, which encompasses 850 acres and offers many recreational opportunities to its visitors.

Mississinewa Reservoir

14,386 acres and a 1,100 acre lake.  Mississinewa Lake, one of the three Upper Wabash flood-control reservoirs, offers excellent fishing, hunting  and boating opportunities in the heart of north-central Indiana. In addition to featuring a 400-plus-site campground and family cabins, Mississinewa was the first state property in Indiana to introduce seasonal camping, where visitors can retain a campsite for the entire season in an all-new campground. The expanses of forests, prairies and farmland surrounding the lake provide attractive habitat to a wide variety of wildlife, exhibiting exceptional viewing opportunities for hikers, bird watchers and touring bicyclists.

Splash House - Marion Indiana Water Park - Water Park

Splash House at Junction Park

Water slides, lazy river, play pad, and wave pool. Private parties and special group rates. Seasonal, M-Fri 11am-6pm, Sat 11am-9pm, Sun noon-6pm. Individual Season Pass $50, Family of 4 Season Pass $150. $5 adult, $4 student and $3 seniors.  Free admission 2 years and under. Open weekends August 13, 2012 through Labor Day.

Open May 1-September 30. Primitive, modern and deluxe accommodations available. Gated, quiet campground offers long, gravel pull-through section, woods, stocked 11-acre lake, in-ground swimming pool, bath house, miniature golf, arcade, playground, boat rental, basketball court, and dump station. Sports Lake Campground is the closest full service campground to exit 259 off I-69 and is very close to Upland.  Come alone or bring a group, but don’t miss the joy of nature at it’s best!
