Still plenty of great places to get married in Eastern Indiana. Plan your Indiana wedding in Marion, Indiana or Fairmount, Indiana
Grant County, Indiana clerk Mark Florence made headlines in late 2010 when he announced that the county would no longer perform wedding ceremonies at the courthouse. That’s bad news for those looking for a quick or low-key wedding. However, eastern Indiana still boasts some great places to get married, some of which we have noted here.
- The Outdoor Option, Matter Park: For those looking for a picturesque outdoor Indiana wedding, Marion, Indiana’s Matter Park has just the thing. The band shell area is ideal for a peaceful ceremony, or explore other parts of Marion’s oldest and largest park for just the right private location.
- The Indoor Option, Roseburg Event Center: Plan your indoor Indiana wedding at Roseburg Event Center, located just west of Marion, Indiana. The facility offers ample space for your ideal wedding, as well as onsite catering services. Find more information on Roseburg and other venues in our Meeting and Event Planner.
- The Historic Option, Thompson-Ray House: Celebrate your Indiana wedding in the recently restored historic home. The 1904 house, former home to glass magnate John L. Thompson and former Gas City, Indiana mayor Robert Ray, boasts a stunning interior with original woodwork, stained glass and gas fireplaces. Contact the Gas City Chamber of Commerce for information on reserving the space.
- The James Dean Option, Fairmount, Indiana: For Deaners, Rock-A-Billy’s or movie buffs, consider getting married in Fairmount, Indiana, hometown to movie icon James Dean (have we mentioned that before?). The groom can wear a red jacket. The bride can cruise up in classic car. And if you really want to make a spectacle of the event, do it during the annual Remembering James Dean Festival in September.
Anywhere that we missed? Did you get married in eastern Indiana? Where did you tie the knot?
